h. p. scanners

h.p[. 4470c sccanner.. when loaded a year ago worked
fine
buttons stopped working... whent through the h.p.tech help
including buying new software c.d. which was not too easy
to load.But the buttons on the front of scanner still
don't work !1 the scanner software h.p.. works o.k. when
started.from descktop and all functions work. only
changes made to system from original
set up was the installation of all upgeades and patches
to x.p.is it a windows or h.p. problem

This is usually a _user problem_. HP has a lot of products
on the market that are limited in use when XP is the OS.
When they sent the CD with the XP drivers, all remnants
of the old drivers have to be removed first. Then the
drivers should be installed without the printer being turned
