Steph

I'm trying to set up the guest account so that people in
the same workgroup as me on my network can access my
shared files by using a password.

I've enabled the account, but can't seem to set
permissions so that a password is needed to log in as a
guest.

Please help!

Guest access without a password is the way that simple file sharing
works. Simple file sharing is the only option for sharing on Home
Edition and is enabled by default in XP Pro.

If you want to use passwords, disable simple file sharing and create
accounts on your machine that match your remote user's accounts.

Enabling or disabling Guest only affects local console logon. It has
nothing to do with remote access authentication.
