Was thinking of buying a 1080. Then thought I might get a 1070. Life has forced me to rethink.
So am now looking at a secondhand GTX 970 4GB for a max price of £120 or a new GTX 1060 6GB for about £240.

Any thoughts folks.

Ah, the question is, will paying double the price of a used 970 equate to a 50% performance increase?

Doubtful, imo, but the 1060 is higher specced and a new one usually carries a three year warranty.

Tough choice.

Myself, I have a GTX970 and have no issues with any games I throw at it but I'm lusting after a 1070, either EVGA or MSI. Trouble is I'm now skint :(

Snap

All the reviews say pretty much the same thing. At the moment for nearly all games at 1920x1200 there is very little difference between a GTX 750Ti , GTX 970 , GTX 1060 3GB and a GTX 1060 6 GB. You obviously get more frames per sec with some cards but all will give decent gaming.
Main differences are power use and temps and noise. I could go for a 1060 3GB which are about £ 160.
Looking forward though it seems games will need more than 3 GB for all the effects maxed out. At the moment for most games 4 GB is fine.

I could live with a 970 for all the games I have at the moment if I can get one cheap enough. If not I recon I will go for a GTX 1060 6GB.
