If you *still* have not restarted, go do it. If that has no effect I
would go to Add/Remove Programs and remove the updates concerned - then
a system restore back to before when you installed them.
Run them again and this time *do* restart. Some modules cannot be
brought into use until you do, because the old one is running until
shutdown. Until then you are in a mixed state and trouble is likely
(There are improvements going on in this area - in the future a need to
restart will be less common, but the more essential if it *is* asked
for)
