Grouping mail by From and To

I would like to be able to create a view which groups email messages by
sender AND recipient.

In other words I would like each group heading for a given name to
contain all the email sent to that name plus all the emails received
from that name.

Seems like an obvious thing to want to do but is it possible and, if
so, how?

I don't think you can group by two fields like that (either field having a
common value).

You could create a search folder that will group mail from & to certain
people that that's limited to one contract per search folder

Do you know any other email clients which allow you to do this?

Seems an obvious thing to want to be able to do

I don't know of any off the top of my head. Just remember what's "obvious"
to one isn't obvious to all. I use a desktop search tool to find things like
you want. You can also use the Activities tab in a contact record to see all
the mail & other items related to the contact

Why it is obvious? The To is to you.... and it would probably group by
display names, not email addresses. Using Views to show/hide mail by
accounts or addresses is better IMHO (less confusing than using subgroups) -
in Outlook 2003, use search folders to group by accounts or addresses.
