group policy problem on windows 2000 proessionl

Hi to all,
I have windows 2000 domain. I have set group policy for the ou and it
working properly on windows xp desktops but same policy is not working on
windows 2000 professional desktop. I had check event viewer of client
machine there I saw event id 1000 is repeating every time giving two
different error i.e. windows cannot query for the list of group policy
objects. A message that describes the reason for this was previously logged
by this policy enging. And othere error is Windows cannot access the file
gpt.ini for GPO The file must be present at the location <>.O. Group policy
processing aborted.

Any help?

That the err msg appears to show that the W2k Pro does not
know where to look for the SysVol delivered parts of policy,
i.e. "location <>"
So, I would start by seeing if the W2k is using exactly the same
settings in Tcp/Ip config for DNS server(s) as the working XP.
