Grey Scale

This question may take some back to the 'dark ages' - looking at a situation
with eyesight and color issues. I would like to try to set a screen to the
early on 'greyscale' environment as opposed to all the vibrant colors.

Can this be done, if so, how is it accomplished.

This is using Windows XP on an IBM T42 laptop.

Let me thank you ahead of time for your responses.

Check your graphics program if it has that feature. Grey scale use almost
all Black ink, but even printing a completed colorless document will still
use some color ink.

Thank you for your reply, but you missed my question. My question was on how
to set the screen to greyscale not the printed output. I do appreciate your
taking the time to respond.

Sorry, looks like I missed the basic part of the question. Some monitors
have the capability to run colorless by manipulating the control buttons
on the front. I have an HP monitor and will let me run it in "grey scale",
it is actually similar to black and white. It looks terrible like back in
the 80's
when my monitor was Monochrome, but that's up to you. When you check
the settings look for a Color Slider that you can move to the left or right to
eliminate the color settings, and Good Luck :~)

Looks like I still missed part of your question for I just realized that
you are using a laptop. Go to the IBM or Lenovo website and check
for tech support or info on your IBM T42 laptop. Or check the Owners
Handbook on how to enhance the color display which could be used
in reverse. Sorry, happy putering :~)
