I've tried them all too....I like Avant. Best is highly subjective unless
you supply some criteria. What's best for you may be total crap for me.

Much prefer Avant personally. It's the best "for me." :)

I use Avant, too. Anybody know how to keep that Avant search page from
coming up when you hit a 404?

Which is something I'd like to know as well. I've noticed it only
since the last update.

This is a result of Avant licensing the Yahoo search engine and apparetly a
requirement is to have this page displayed. I have posted to the Avant forum
that he should change it so that only happens if you use the Yahoo search in
Avant. We'll have to see what happens. You will need to go back to 9.01
build 121 to get the old functionality back or hope it gets resolved.

It's not that much of an issue. I suppose you could edit your hosts file to
block or redirect it.

Sometimes you need an IE based browser though, so anything is better
than IE, I like MyIE2. But my main browser of choice is my custom
Mozilla Firefox 0.8 optimized for AMD K6-2.

I've figured this out. The latest AdAware will get rid of this issue.
The offending registry value is in the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks
