I have noticed that when going to a Microsoft site for help that oft times
you will get a help file that has text in it that is green. When you click
on the green text it opens up a little area that gives a further explanation
of the text clicked on. You can open up these explanations or close them.

I'm just wondering if there is an equivilent in WORD. Can I do this in a
WORD document? Today I had a document that had the word algorithm in it.
It would have been nice if I could have made that word green so that when
clicked on, an explanation of the word could be seen.

I suppose I could have created a footnote instead, and for the time being
this is what I am doing but if WORD offers an alternative (like the green
text I've talked about) I would like to be aware of it. If it can be done,
how do you do it in WORD or is there another alternative?

Thank You

Not really. You can do something similar using hyperlinks or VBA but
neither will be identical to what you see in Help.

This feature has been requested in the past - perhaps it wouldn't hurt
to post this as a Suggestion on:

I know I'd vote on it. :-)

I discovered that foot notes are somewhat similar in that after you post the
footnote, just moving over the item opens a tooltip, which is convenient.
