Green dots to represent spacing

I know you can do something in Word that will let you see if you have one or
more spaces between characters. Can someone tell me how to turn it on? I am
using Word 2003. Thanks in advance for all your help.
 
The problem with clicking on the paragraph toolbar is that you get every
single character. I only want to see the spacing. Thanks anyway.

Tools - Options - Formatting - click on spaces
