Great! Outlook Beta deletion!

Yesterday I posted the following:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'I had installed Outlook 2003 before downloading the 2007 Beta version. This
latest version keeps crashing. How can I go back to the 2003 version and
'delete' the Beta version?

Cheers,

Bodster

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I followed the advice on here and deleted the 2007 Beta version of
Outlook from the Add/Remove selction in the Control Panel. I thought the
2003 version would kick back in. Guess what? It hasn't and I've got the
message

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or thr wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software.
Please reinstall Outlook.

I don't want to reinstall yet as I'll lose all my setttings (emails, contact
etc...). I have a huge database of emails, contacts etc...

Any advice, perlease?

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Pro 6/7 installed (not the reader)? If yes, go
into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, change Adobe Acrobat Pro 6/7
and remove the Outlook & Office plugins. Then you can reinstall 2007 and
the crashes should be gone.
To get 2003 back, remove 2007 & 2003, reboot and reinstall 2003. If this
doesn't work, delete mapi32.dll in Windows Safe Mode after you removed
2003 and then reinstall 2003.

Aside from Patrick's logical and very reasonable answer, a thorough way to
remove beta applications is to restore your computer to the point prior to
installing the beta application.)

use system restore and then reinstall 2003 - you can only have one version
installed and the beta doesn't do a good of removing the older version, so
it often crashes if you didn't uninstall office 2003 first and reboot.

Please go to start-> run->regedit this will open registry editor backup
your registry from File->export .
then delete the following registry keys

Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\office delete office
Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office

Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows NT\current version\windows
messaging subsystem\profiles and alos remove simple mapi cnc key from
registry and close out of this location and reinstall office 2003
