Great net access but no interaction between machines

Hi.

I know this *must* have been answered somewhere on this group but I've
spent the last couple of days on and off searching this and the rest of
the world to no avail. If you know the location of the post with the fix
then please point me in the right direction.

The problem is this. I've 1 XP, 1 2k and 2ppcs (win 2003). I've had no
problems previously getting them all to talk to each other and share files
etc etc... I set this up by giving each device its own IP address, with
the gateway and dns server IP of the machine with the internet
connection. Like I say all worked fine.

I've recently upgraded to a Belkin ADSL Modem/Router combo and have
configured it to act as a DHCP server and have set all devices to obtain
their IP and DNS settings automatically. So far so good - all devices can
ping the router and access the net.

However I cannot get them to talk to each other like I could previously. I
can't even get them to ping either by device name or by IP address. What
else do I need to do to the router to give the devices visibility of each
other again???

Plz check ur host file to see if anything has been added there...

also.. try tracert <ip addr> to see till where it searches..

Ok (sheepish) now fixed... enable NetBios over TCP/IP works wonders you
know...
