Graphics printing on top of text

P

Peter Kronenberg

I have a floating graphic. I have the graphic and text aligned
exactly the way I want it on the screen, but when I print, the graphic
is printing on top of the text, even though I have sent it behind the
text. I've tried editing the wrap points and everything else I can
think of.

A search showed something related to graphics in the header or footer,
but I'm not using any headers or footers.

I know I successfully printed this the other day. I'm looking at it.
But now I can't get it to work at all.

It doesn't have anything to do with the printer either, since I also
tried using PDF995 to print to a PDF document. Same problem. So it's
definitely something about the way Word is printing it.

thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Are you saying that the wrapping of the graphic
is set to 'behind text' or that you're trying to
change the 'order' of the elements?

What is the build version of Word that you are using
from Help=>About?

Where does the graphic appear when you use
Print Preview and File=>Web Page Preview?

Does it change anything if you use the setting
in File=>Print=>Options and change 'Print Postscript over text'
or if you use Tools=>Options=>Compatability and
select Word 97 before printing?

I'm using Word 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1)

When I do a Print Preview, it looks exactly like I want it to look.
The graphic has a white/transparent background. I want the text to be
over the graphic, although the effect is that the text is over the
transparent background. The part of the image that I care about does
not have any text on it.

No difference using 'Print Postscript over text' or changing the
compatability options.
