Graphics card wont install

I have downloaded the up to date drivers for my motherboard and the most
recent for the graphics card all to no avail.
There is no onboard graphics on the MSI 745 Ultra. I was using an old
ATI Rage 2 with 4Mb Ram before I tried to install the Radeon 9600. I
did uninstall the old card before I removed it.
I have been through the Bios several times and cannot see anywhere I
can disable the SIS Accelerated Graphics Port. But surely if I could
disable it my computer would not pick up the Graphics Cardbecause the
AGP slot would be disabled.

The proper precedure for installing a new video card:
uninstall the old video drivers
shut down
pull the old card and install the new
if moving from a PCI card to an AGP card enter the BIOS and check all AGP
settings being sure to set AGP before PCI in the Primary VGA BIOS settings
reboot and let XP load its default drivers
install the new cards video drivers.

Hope this helps
