Is there some way to test whether the memory in the
graphics card is corrupt short of opening up the
computer. I dont feel real comfortable opening up my
computer. Also I only have one graphics card it came with
my computer. I dont even know what a graphics card looks
like or which item is a graphics card nor do I have any
idea of what it would cost to replace or even which
graphics card goes with my computer.

If you're not comfortable opening your computer, it is now time to take
the box to a good local computer repair shop (not a CompUSA/BestBuy
type store). Depending on what you do on your computer (and I'm
guessing you're not a big gamer or you would know what a graphics card
is), replacing it can cost under $50. Normally, checking out your
machine and replacing the card (if needed) is not an particularly
expensive job.
