my current game which im obsessed with is sof2 which i have been playing for a year now online (almost everyday!)sad:) i have had problems with this card (i think it was the card) where the game would just cut out completely but i updated to the latest drivers and it seemed to sort itself out until i put the side panel back on my pc where it promptly cut out again it still does it occasionally but its bearable. (with panel off)
Can anyone help with the best graphics card and sys config to play online,im on isdn 64K also does anyone know of an 128k isdn provider thats suitable for playing online?
hello to all users by the way;):spin:

Hi lincs! Welcome!

That is one hell of a system you have there! The Ti4400 should be able to run anything well that is out at the moment, so it would be worth hanging on to it if you can get it working. By the time it starts to show its age, you will be able to get something even better :) If money is no object, it may be best to go for a better NVidia card, as it will save you alot of driver trouble.

Try going to www.nvidia.com and updating your drivers to the latest windows XP ones again, and see if it helps? How would the game cut out for you, was there an error?

wotcha lincs :)

As Ian says, there's not a lot of point in upgrading your card unless you want to splash out in excess of three hundred quid for very little improvement.

The fact that you say the problem went away when you left the side off your computer case points to inadequate cooling. CPU or Case overheating can lead to crashes and freezing.

Do you know what cooler/fan combo you have for your CPU? Case fans fitted? Let us know and we may be able to make suggestions to improve the situation.

As for overclocking, you could visit Guru3D and check out their downloads section. All latest drivers plus overclocking software and video card enhancements available there.

SOF2 is a good game, I played that through twice in single player, never been online with it though.

hi guys,
thanks for the advice think it may be a cooling problem as ive still got my old nokia case with only the usual fans,(chip and graphics) perhaps i need to invest in some decent cooling and a new case as it is pretty cramped in there(still got side panel off lol)

does anybody know how to configue xp's firewall??

thanks again guys
much appreciated

Is 125 hours enough? That's, like, 4 hours a day for gaming and other net use.

Maybe it is. Best keep a tally, cos they'll sting you for extras if you exceed hours online, and then you may have just as well gone for an ISP that charges around £28.00 a month.
