There are a view. One of the best (IMHO) is PhotoFiltre.
Thoug it comes with an installer, but that is only for shortcut creating
purposes. Deleted the shortcuts (on the desktop and in the start menu) and
then you can move Photofiltre to whereever you want. I even burned a copy on
cd and made it autorun. Handy if you work at other computers.

According to the website, irfanview is also a non-install app you can use.
It has a lot of the same features as Photofiltre, some are better some are
less.

On average, more people are familiair with irfanview (yet!) but (as you can
tell) I like photofiltre more.

I think they are quite different: IrfanView is a good viewer (and I
already use it), while PhotoFiltre is a retouching tool (and that's what
I need now!) to e.g. add lines, text,...

There's a french version in zip format; adding the right language plugin
now I have PhotoFiltre without installer :)

Thanks (also to other repliers)!

Steer clear of anything from Babya. For example, look at these reviews -

Anybody who has been sympathising with Fussy and has never looked at this
should do so. You may have noticed how he asks for people to review his
programs. Well there are some reviews here, but apparently he ignores
them unless they are favourable (but then again, has he EVER had a
favourable review?)

Still have sympathy? Not me, all I have is pity. And frustration....
and.... oh, what's the use, he's never going to listen. Are you, fussy
the troll?

Well... I do also think of them as complementary instead of being rival, but
I also know there are others out there who beg to differ.

Yup! just add any texure, masks and selections files (and any plug-ins you
care about) and you have an up and running system.

The compleete unzipped package (including all aviable plug-ins, selections,
masks textures and a different language file are approx. 20 MB

I ripped the icon out of photo filter (to use on the CD) and added this
autorun.ini:

[autorun]
open=PhotoFiltre.exe
icon=photofiltre.ico
label=PhotoFiltre 5.6 CD

shell=Run

shell\Run\command=runable\PhotoFiltre.exe
shell\Run=&Run

This will run PhotoFiltre From CD Show the photofiltre.ico file as icon for
the CD and uses "PhotoFiltre 5.6 CD" as CD Label in 'My Computer'.
Be sure to change the preferences to your liking before buring them to cd.
Thanks (also to other repliers)!

Are you sure it won't full of crap the registry? How can you say it? Did it
remember last opened files or windows positions? If so, it fills your
registry of stuff...

Photofiltre saves it's settings in an .ini file. The file is located
in the root of the Photofiltre directory allowing you to add all of
your plugins, set it up the way you want, zip it and you have a
perfect no-install version, settings and all.

3 things:
1) Ab *.ini file:
All options are stored there.
After all the translation and testing I did I think I ought to know.

2) and for insurance: I checked my registy settings (and als ran the cd on
another pc without Photofiltre installed)

3) It is written in Delphi. Dephi (in contrast to .net or visual studio) can
make single file executables (.net requires .net framework, visual basic
requires the vb runtime)
