graph animation

In PP 2000 it was easy to set the effect options so that just one element at
a time would enter the slide.
In PP XP it only gives me the graph as one object.
How can I get to the 'old' settings to animate my graphs?

I now understand you have to try different animations, as not all give the
same possibilities. Trial and error I suppose and taking notes for the next
time.
