GPO for Windows 2000 and XP workstations

I just applied a GPO to my AD Domain in order to change a security setting in
IE. As I made the change, all my Windows XP clients have applied it correctly
through the GPO.
UNfortunately my Windows 2000 clients are unable to apply the change it IE
through GPO. I receive the following error in the APP log.

Source: Userenv
Eventr ID: 1000
"The Group Policy client-side extension Scripts was passed flags (16) and
returned a failure status code of (3)

This happen as I try to update the GPO using secedit, or at bootup when the
GPO is supposed to be applied.

At bootup I will also receive the following

Souece: UserInit
Event ID: 1001
Could not locate the script command lines in the Group Policy object.

ANy help on these errors would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

good things

Could be that the policy doesn't exist for Win2000, but does for Server 2003
and XP. Just a guess....

The Policy I am applying is a security settings for IE 6.0, both versions
have that setting. Although I just noticed in the GPO object in AD the
requirement is IE 6.0 on XP sp2.

Is it possible that all of the IE security policy's in AD cannot be used on
Win2000?

Hi Rob

A lot of new settings were added that are specific to Windows XP SP2
(Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2). As you've noticed, you can check which version
of the browser they are applicable to in the description of the policy.

Kind regards
