GPMC vs AD

Exactly, what the title states.

How come by adding Users, Computer, or Group in the AD on
the domain controller never seems to take effect.

But when you add them on the GPMC, everything comes into
play?

Is it because i'm still running in a Mixed Mode
environment?

What is not taking affect in the AD? The creation of the object?
What is taking affect in the GPMC?

When i create an OU within the AD structure, I add users
and computers that belong in that group, but when i
applied a Group Policy, nothing seems to take effect.

But when i do the same in GPMC, by adding users and
computers in the Security Filtering, everything in that
Group Policy is in effect.

Has anyone encounter this before?

Steven,

It has to be WHERE you are creating the users and computer objects. You must
place the user and computer objects in the OU, where the GPO is linked. In
the ADUC, you can see the Users and Computers containers, which can be
confusing. Is this a possibility of what happened?
