Hi I have been trying to reformat my drive but get this General Protection
Fault when using my XP disk, does anyone here know what the problem could
be?

Trap 0000000 = GPF
tr 0028 Cr0=00000011
Cr2=00000000 Cr3=00000000
gdt limit =03FF base =00017000
idt limit =07F base =00017400

cs:eip = 008:0031A6B8
ss:esp = 0010 : 00062072 errcode 030A
flags = 00010003 Cy NoZr IntDis Down TrapDis
eax = 00000000
ebx = 00000000
ecx = 00007102
edx = 00000000 ds = 0010 es = 0000
edi = 06207300
esi = 00000000
ebp = FFFFFFFF
cr0 = 00000011 fs = 0030 gs = 0000

If I don't put the disk in and boot normally, windows loads with no problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please explain with more clarity exactly what you are doing

Ok, its like this, I want to reinstall windows, as I do from time to time,
but this particular time i got the GPF as detailed above.
I have tried the disk on another PC to see if it was the disk, but it booted
as per normal.
I replaced all part with known woring parts, such as memory (crucial)
Graphics card (Sapphire), DVD (NEC), but the GPF still pops up each time
although some of the numbers change each time I try and boot with the XP
disk.

The only thing I was having any sort of trouble with at the time was with a
D-Link network card which I was trying to get to work with a wireless
router, it wouldn't connect to the IE control panel.
Any ideas?
