Hi

I have I think a new problem concerning adware/stazi home
pages etc. I usually use google to do searches, but when
I click into the search results I notice some are not
going directly to the website that is listed but goes to
http://81.211.105.69/index.php/ which is of course
something to do with this hotsearches.cc/searchcentral.cc
public annoyance. I now check by just doing mouse over to
see where they go and have to press reload if it involves
this website, that changes search results it is targeting.

Has anyone got any idea what file is causing this, I've
tried the spyware adware removers but they don't get rid
of anything that comes from this source at all.

Anyone who has been attacked by searchcentral.cc do a
search for files called update12.js (hidden) in
c:\windows and hosts in C:\WINDOWS\nsdb kill them. If you
want check the contents of these files, drag and drop
them into notepad and it tells you exactly what they are.
Next go to regedit.exe and go to
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main and change
anything that says http://searchcentral.cc blah blah to
what you want. You may find that when you restart windoze
that it is slower to log on and then you get an error
message saying that it can't find update12.js and search
for it. Don't worry it's not a really a problem, it's
logged something into the start up I think and I still
have yet to figure it out

I now try to find out websites that are causing problems
and I list them into the restricted site zone. This
prevents them downloading malicious files onto your
computer. Or you can use Netscape which for some strange
reason (probably virus caused) won't install/open on my
computer, running XP.
