Has anybody realised that this group isn't being archived by Google yet?
Older posts are being deleted on the msnews newsserver, so there has been a
lot of useful Vista problems experience lost.

Yes I mentioned this a while ago, how odd I thought it was that Google
groups which I've considered to be the best usenet text posting archive,
wasn't archiving this very active and useful group! They archive other
microsoft.* newsgroups, so why not this one? How does one get Google to
archive a given group anyway? I've never seen any info on how to get a
group such as this added to google, but I'd love to get this thing
archived. I think the 64 bit vista group is archived, I wonder why then
this one isn't yet, and how can Google be made aware of it?

It takes a while before Google Archive catches up. There was quite a
delay before x64 was finally archived.

Dennis:

Does this mean that they lose posts that were removed form the server
before the archive appears?

That answer I don't have. All I remember is that it took a long time
for x64 to appear in the Google Archive. Have a great day.

The bigger shame is Microsoft deleting older posts. It's not like these
posts are years old. As Synapse said, that's a lot of experience and
learning down the tubes.

The Microsoft.public group messages are normally kept on the servers for 90
days.

However, much of the information on the Vista.public groups concern the beta
versions of Vista and I'm not sure what the policy is for archiving this
type of information. I doubt that Google will start archiving these groups
until after the launch date at the end of January.

You can contact Google and make a suggestion at the following link.
