When searching from the old Google Groups page, I'm getting an
error...

Not Found, Error 404

Thanks for any clues.

I slightly changed the search start page, and it works now. Not sure
why, but I guess that's good.

And you've not considered it's a glitch at google?

One night this month (and I can't remember exactly when) I got 404 errors
right via google, ie going to the gorups page and looking up a newsgroup,
and they'd offer a result, but if you clicked that on, it was a 404 error.

Same thing happened sometime during the past week.

I'm not even searching for something, I'm trying to access a newsgroup,
and it's like that newsgroup doesn't exist at google.

SOmetimes the simplest reasoning is that google is at fault.

Yep. It hiccups every blue moon, SOmetimes even pukes. I got the
same thing few days ago. Keep Forte around for spare hookups in the
latter instance, although haven't figured how to get out of Forte what
I want -- a google look alike. Simple collective missive titles up
top by newest date, I suppose, chronological followings within if not
a date sequential listing. Uppity basterds...never sure what new
loops they've around the corner to jump through with my outdated
browser, consequent updates and qualifications to login for watching
you these days.
