I was using two monitors at one time...but now I am only using one. However
the computer still thinks there are two screens (programs pop up where the
other monitor used to be). Can anyone help me?

Did you remove/delete all references to the second monitor in Device
Manager? You might have to boot into Safe Mode to 'see' everything Device
Manager may have listed in the past.

Right click the desktop, choose properties... then click the settings tab.
You should see a rectangle with the number 1... and a rectangle with the number 2.
Click the number 2.
Make sure the box next to "Extend my Windows desktop..." is unchecked.
Then OK.

That should work.
If it doesn't, if you click *advanced,* there may be a tab for your graphics card (ie:
GeForce, or nVidia, etc). There should be a display settings area, where you can make it
a single display.
Not knowing your hardware configuration, makes it difficult to be more explicit.

Hope this helps ya...
