going from acpi to standard pc mode

i'm running xp home on a p4 2.26 with 845 chipset 533fsb.
currently the system is being used primarily to run pro
tools recording software. one of the performance tweaks
is to run the system in 'standard pc' mode. right now the
driver is set up for acpi uniprocessor but i would like
to change it to 'standard pc'. are there any other steps
to do other than just select the desired driver ? will i
be able to go back to the acpi driver by just selecting
that driver again ? all support advice is GREATLY
appreciated!!! thanks...mykhal

Leave your current ACPI settings alone. If you change them,
Windows XP will not boot and you'll need to reinstall
XP from scratch.
