P PopMal Jun 19, 2006 #3 I have spysweeper by webroot installed and avg antivirus installed... Using the enter button does not solve the problem... I am using Internet Explorer 6.0 xp sp2....

P PopMal Jun 19, 2006 #5 I fixed it... I tried the IE6 repair tool and it fixed the problem... After fighting this thing for weeks and trying a lot of win xp fixes this is about one of the only things left that I didnt try and it worked... Im wondering if when I tried the firefox browser for a few days and then removed it if this didnt screw up the settings when reverting back to IE....

No, installing Firefox shouldn't affect IE's settings in any way. Firefox is a stand-alone app.
