Go back to XP

After some serious witnessing some of the most serious frustrations with
Vista, I am wanting, for stability and user friendly purposes, to go back to
XP Professional. When I try and boot from the CD it says something along the
lines of "Insert Valid System Disk ...". So my question is how do I got BACK
to XP now?

Chris,
It might depend on your bios, but you need to make sure first your computer
is configured to boot from the CD. I'm sure you've probably done that,
though.

I did the same thing (went back to XP) and I was able to boot just fine to
the CD and wipe out my installation of Vista. You may want to use Vista
Boot Pro to wipe the Vista bootloader from your hard disk, then try again to
boot to the CD. Of course, you would need to be able to boot back into
Vista. I can't remember if I did this or not, but I think if you boot to
the CD, the XP disc will reinstall its own bootloader.

Can you still boot back into Vista if you don't boot to the CD?

Jesse,

Yes I can. I can use Vista just fine. For some reason when I boot from my XP
Pro CD it says Invalid System Disk or something along those lines. I have a
copy of Home here somewhere I will try that later as well. Thanks for your
help.

Hi Chris,

Sounds like the BIOS is either booting the wrong optical drive, or the CD is
damaged.
