Pure Overclock have reviewed the Gigabyte Z77 G.1 Sniper 3 Motherboard which they decribe as a strong option for gamers:

"Intel’s latest processors, codenamed Ivy Bridge, are in full swing. On the plus side, Ivy is a more efficient CPU with the addition of Intel’s new Tri-Gate 3D transistors with a die shrink to 22nm. The bad (if you can call it that) is there's additional heat produced by the chips. We have to say, Intel’s Tri-Gate 3D Transistors are in its infancy and Intel has nothing but time to develop the new transistors as Haswell (Intel’s next release), is not due till sometime early to mid-2013. Haswell will bring a completely new architecture to the plate.

Since the release of Ivy Bridge, plenty of new motherboards and memory kits have been released like a tidal wave, and we have seen some innovative features on Z77 motherboards along with full support for PCIE 3.0 and USB 3.0. Some motherboard manufacturers have simply added the PCIE and USB 3.0 and not much more, keeping them pretty much stuck in neutral. Gigabyte has typically manufactured great quality products but as of recent, have been evolving with their competition. We have seen the majority of Gigabyte’s product migrate to a black aesthetic package and see more innovation with each new release.

Gigabyte introduced their gamer-oriented “Sniper" branded motherboard series with the X58 chipset and today they continue the Sniper 3 series with the Z77 chipset and we have to say, it's a real badass looking motherboard. So let’s get it to our lab and on the test bench, and see what Gigabyte has in store."
