why does FP 2000 prompt me to save jpg to gifs?

Are you trying to convert them in any way that requires a gif, such as
adding transparency?

Possibly. I can't say for sure; I noticed it does this
from time to time with certain pics; it prompts me to save
it as a gif..something about better for seeing the image.
So what should my pics be in FP 2000 gifs or jpgs or does
it all depend or not matter?

You want to import all your images before using them on your site ... then
you won't get this prompt. Here's a tutorial of basic info about using
