Recently purchased a new Dell laptop w/XP_pro and its IE
browser skews all gif's & jpg's. Microsoft updates have
no effect. If you copy the image into another program it
looks fine. Other browsers work fine. Even the IE
browser inside Macromedia HomeSite+ works fine. Dell
support was not too helpful, unfortunately.

Has anyone else experienced this? My search of microsoft
sites only produced one similar instance where AOL
converts gif's to .art files, but I'm not using AOL. Any
ideas?

From MVP Sandi Hardmeier:

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy images/distorted images
