what must i do to see gif files sent me
at present all i get is a picture frame with a red x in it
any help woud be appreciated

They are Quicken Import Files and aren't associated with a program.

Ooops... That's a 'G' (GIF) not a 'Q' (QIF) !

Just associate the GIF file to your favourite graphics viewer.

In Outlook Express, go to Tools/Options/Security Tab and remove the check mark from the "Block images and other external content in HTML emails" option.
 
I have the same problem of the red x in some emails using OE. I have
removed the suggested check mark in the Security Tab several months ago, and
I still get them.
