hi everyone
new to this forum,i have a problem which i can't solve and need some help.
my os is win.xp home edition sp2 and am using IE6 sp2.
i searched the KB for the problem and done,KB897693,840465,833689 as well as
surfing the web for a solution,am using frontpage 2003.
these are the issues,in clean boot mode gif and jpg work fine in both design
and preview mode,no red x's,although the clipbroad said:item not
collected-format not supported by office clipbroad-even in normal mode.
i do not have a content.mso folder or setup.chm folder.
when i click a clipart to view properties the information bar(bottom left of
the screen) say's,javascript:void(0).
so i uninstalled the software and installed it again,i still get red x's for
gif and jpg images.
paul.

Can you post a URL so we can get an idea of what the errant HTML may look
like? Sometimes that's the only way.

Make sure you have a site open (File > Open Site...), not just a page.
Make sure you import the images into the web (File > Import).
Make sure you publish the images.

thanks mark and andrew for your responses.
but i have only had frontpage 2003 for a couple of weeks and am unsure what
the answers say.
i have two specific questions, 1)in KB897693 it said that if a,content.mso
folder does
not exist, that could be the problem of why i get red x's,i do not have this
folder.
and 2)in KB833689 it said that gif and jpg extensions are supported in
frontpage but
my clipbroad saids item not collected-format not supported by clipbroad.

You will not use clipboard with FP.
You will Import (File | Import) images into your FP website, OR you will
Drag/Drop them into FP.
DO NOT COPY/PASTE.

Open FP
File | Open Site
File | Import you will browse to your image(s) that exist outside of your
FP web site and import them in (usually into the Images folder - but you can
store them anywhere in FP you want)
Then you place them into your layout from the folder or location where you
stored them INSIDE of FP.

Make sure your images are RGB colorspace and not CMYK, CMYK is for print and
will not display on the net even if the extension is .jpg or .jpeg.

thanks rob
i have tried the import image and it works very well, how do i find out if a
image is rgb.
also i found out if you copy and paste and the image is a red x in preview
putting it in the images folder cures the problem.

In Photoshop you'd check at Image | Mode, dunno where in other
software...prbly in image properties somewhere.

Be careful when you Import images that you have the folder you want the to
import into selected first, or you may end up misplacing the image.
