Getting Yosemite Backup to work with Vista

Q

Qu0ll

Has anyone tried to get Yosemite Backup to work with Vista? I can get it to
run and access the storage domain but I get a Registry Operation Failure
when the backup starts. Yosemite just say that Vista is not a supported OS
but I feel it shouldn't take much tweaking to get it to work.

Well now, if Yosemite says Vista is not a supported OS but you feel it
shouldn't take much tweaking to get it to work, what in your opinion needs
tweaking and how should it be done?

I was just reading the posts and you posted the same message yesterday. Did
you not like the responses you got? Do you have ADHD and totally forgot?

The same responses apply to today. Read those responses and apply them to
the SAME QUESTION that was posted today.

Maybe tomorrow if you post the same question, the Yosemite people will see
how serious you are and will rush to develop a new version and send you a
copy by overnight delivery.

Points taken! The reason I posted the question again was because of the
sheer volume of messages that this group gets. The first post was at a time
where not many would be monitoring the group meaning it would be buried well
down the list by the time most people came online. Anyway, it turns out I
was right - I have it working now after a little tweaking. The trick (for
anyone interested) is not to specify to backup the registry as this will
fail and prevent Yosemite from backing up regular files. Maybe the registry
has moved in Vista?
