Backup to Tape?

Is there a freeware, shareware or super cheapware (!) backup
program that can use IDE tape drives? I tried the trial version
of Yosemite Backup but it doesn't play nice with Vista RTM.
I'm disappointed that MS took out the capability for backup
to tape from Vista. It's nice to be able to back up 40GB at
a time with no intervention required.

Get a USB disk drive and you can backup 80GB for the just more than the
price of a typical IDE 40GB tape cassette. Or, for the price of about 3
tape cassettes, requiring at least two user interventions, you can get at
least 250 GB of USB hard drive backup capacity that would require no
intervention to use.

I haven't tried it on Vista but they claim it is Vista compatible.

I have used it with both XP and Windows 2000. It works very well with them.

Thanks for the reply. We probably will go that route once we are able to
copy our many years
worth of data off the tapes.
