getting to shares through internet connection firewall

I have several XP Pro machines running in a Windows
Server 2003 domain with the internet connection firewall
turned on to prevent the annoying messenger spams while
still allowing administrative alerts to be sent over
messenger.

I can't seem to connect to any of the administrative
shares for the hard drives of the machines. With the
firewall turned off, I can.

How do I configure the internet connection firewall to
allow access to the administrative (and non-
administrative for that matter) shares on the XP machines
from within the domain? Thanks.

The easiest solution is to not use ICF and get a hardware router/firewall.
This will block the messenger spam as well as secure your network from
outside attacks and leave the internal network open.
Or you can config the ICF. Go into its settings(properties of connection,
advanced tab, settings) and add the services you need to get thru.
