Hello,
w2k3 comes with imbedded ie 6.00.3790. I've been wondering if there is a
place I could get a separate insallation package. The previous ie versions
for nt, w2k and xp are incompartible with w2k3.
In previus, I had w2k and installed w2k3 additionally onto the sam drive.
Unfortunately the installation endedup with ie6 and oe5. oe5 didn't work as
expected. So I forced installation of ie 6.00.2800 onto w2k3. After the
package was applied and machine rebooted, i was unable to login. Shlwapi.dll
was missing some entries, so I had to revert this file to the original but
the system would'nt work as expected. To remedy the system I had to update
it with w2k3 setup. Fortunately this time i ended up with ie6 and oe6 and
everything seems to be functional. But just in case something would go wrong
in future, it would be much more convenient to have a separate compartible
ie installation package at hand.

Thanks

Most problems with shlwapi.dll are user created, by having options set in
OE's Tools/Options/Maintenance to create Troubleshooting logs and then
forgetting all about them, causing the log files to grow to unmanageable
size, causing errors with "shlwapi.dll."

To try and help you, it would help us more if you would post the complete
and exact text of any error messages you may be getting. Also you make sure
that during any installation of an upgrade or patch, that you disable any
antivirus product to prevent corrupting the upgrade/patch installation.

Thank you Jim for feedback. At the moment I have no problems with OE and I
found the reasons I had troubles. Still, it maybe more convenient to have
Iinternet Explorer installation package just in case...

Thanks
