i have installed xp on my system only to find that my
modem and other things wont work. I want desperately to
get rid of xp and reinstall 98.

I have tried doing everything and even downloaded a boot
disc, tried using it to boot my computer up and when I do
its simply comes up with invalid system disc press any key
to continue.

I know how to reformat my hard drive and reload windows 98
on it. And thats all i want to do but xp just crap and
wont let me do anything i try.

PLEASE OFFER ME A SOLUTION before i kick my computer from
here to next week.

You need to use fdisk to remove the non-dos partition before you can format
the drive. Your boot disk that you downloaded should bring you to a A:\
prompt. simply type fdisk and follow through (y when asked about large disk
support) to delete the partition. Once it's gone, create a new one, reboot
and format.
