Getting rid of the automatic update nag in the sys tray

this requires a registry edit - there sould be an entry under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

for Windows Update - just delete that lin
 
Either install the updates or set the "Automatic Updates" service to manual.
