You know those little red X's in a box that show up in place of a picture or
video...and how we can rid the problem by going to tools>options>security and
uncheck "do not allow attatchments to saved or opened...".Will the security
program that I have in place look out for these attachments that could be
dangerous? Is it worth unchecking this option? I see alot of lil red X's!Thanx

Panda_man : If we are talking about Security center 's alerts , there is no
video there. Please , explain it more acurately.

Panda_man : You didn't say what is your security program which you have in
place so if we know the name , we'll answer.
What do you refer?

I am running the Norton internet security...sorry about that. I am not
talking about security center alerts, just the small boxes with a lttle red x
in the top corner. They usually seem to show up in an e-mail in place of a
photo.
The tip of going to tools>options then clicking on the security tab and
unchecking "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could be a
virus" came from the windows xp for dummies book. So I just want to know if
Norton will take over this task if I uncheck this box?
Many thanx from a newbie!

I cannot understand what is this small box with a little red x
(in the top corner) which usually seem to show up in an e-mail in place of a
photo.I haven't seen such a thing and it doesn't look normal for me.

Also , no matter if you check/uncheck the option for blocking attachments ,
Norton will always scan your email (I mean Norton will check them if you have
it on )

I am not sure what this red X is , so you can have second opinion of the
malware status of your computer using Panda's free ActiveScan (checker for
all kind of threats)
