Getting rid of Outlook Express,6 error message

R

Ron

I received the following message a while back when I
attempted to send e mail to two 'rejected' e mail
addresses. Problem is; How do I get rid of the error
messgage??
recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-
mail address was _ _ _ _ _ 'mail.optonline.net',
Server: 'mail.optonline.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: _ _ _ _ _,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error
Number: 0x800CCC79"<<

Problem is: How do I get rid of the error messgage??
I was instructed to delete it from the "Local Folder"
outbox.
When I open my mail local folder I DO see the '2' items
there but I see there is no option to 'delete'
or 'remove' them. So, everytime I send mail the above
error message appears. I tried finding the
file "Documents and settings\ron\local\Settings\apps"--
the place where the "properties" button said it was from,
but I couldn't find it by searching.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Ron

Hi purplehaz,
(sorry if this is a duplicate reply to you but I can't
see the reply I sent earlier posted in the thread.)

I tried right clicking on Local Folder Outbox but the
only options I have are "open", "new folder"
or "property". All other options are grayed out.
The Local Folder outbox DOES show the of "2" messages
(and "0" unread messages) but I can't see how to delete
them.

Thanks again, Ron

Ah-H-a-a-a, I found my problem purplehaz. The items WERE
in the outbox, but they can't be deleted with a 'right
click' until you change the "view" so you can see them.
In my case I had to change 'hide read messages' to 'show
all messages'. I guess I didn't know the 'view' would
prevent the delete proceedure you suggested unless I
first change the 'view'.

Ok, glad you got it.
