When I imported *.pst files from Outlook 2002 to Outlook
2003 on a stand alone machine, it created another set
of "Personal Folders". When I try to get rid of the
second set, altho it gives me the option to "close", I get
an error message that an "object cannot be found."

How do I correct it and get rid of the folders?

Thanks for all you do to help us :-)

You can't close them by File-> Outlook Data File Management either?

Your mailprofile got corrupted. You'll need to recreate it in Control
Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...
