Getting photo images for my web site

Besides just surfing the web, can anyone you recommend a good place to find
inexpensive (or free) photo images for my web site? Thank you.

Taking them off the web could be illegal because of copyright rules and
regs.
Do a Google for the subject type you want. Such as 'photos sky free'.

Most of the legal stuff is not cheap, even so-called Royalty free stuff.

I usually buy CD's with photoimages which give you rights to use them. Even still there is never exactly what I want so I grab a camera and shoot it myself...then there's never an issue of copyright - model releases are needed if shooting people though.

I was surprised to find on a cheap (75 bucks for a zillion images) CD that most of the photoimages were Corbis stuff! So that was a real bargain since Corbis stuff ain't cheap.

Shop around, there's tons of stuff out there.

www.hemera.com has big box of art. like $25 disks for about $99 full
retail. I'm sure if you search the shops at yahoo, or ebay and the like
you'll find it at a fraction of that.

I only mention hemera because I have it.

what kind of images are you looking for?

don't forget Microsoft's design gallery live. I have found some good
pictures there for incorporation into graphics. not much into the clip art
though. ;-)
