Getting new mail alerts/sounds

I'm using Outlook 2007 and I have my MSN accounting downloading into it.
Does anyone know a way to have an alert show up or a sound made for that
particular inbox? I've tried creating a rule but it doesn't seem to work.

Rules don't work on Outlook Connector accounts. You can set some move to
folder rules within the Live Hotmail web interface but that is basically it.

To get an alert when receiving a new email for the Connector account, you'll
have to set the message store as the default delivery location via;
File-> Data File Management...
