Getting into DOS mode

I HATE windows xp and want format my Hard Drive so I can
reinstall Windows 98.. How do I get to DOS mode and
COMPLETLY exit Windows?
 
Does anyone have an answer for thiw? I have a clean
insteall of Windows XP and want to wipe my hard drive and
then install Windows 98 but I can seem to get to the C
drive with a boot disk to do this.

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition.
4. Install your desired Operating System.

Boot the Win98 startup floppy. Use its FDISK to delete the XP partition
(maybe a NonDOS one if NTFS), make a new DOS primary one, reboot to
FORMAT C: and go to the Win98 CD to run Setup
