Getting freaky on case - Which is better - steel or aluminum?

Just notice cases are made in either steel or aluminum. How
do you pick one over the other? Why do we have two choices
anyway? If one is better than the other, wouldn't the
industry have adopted the better one by now?

Aluminium is lighter, prettier and more expensive.
Steel is sturdier, cheaper and marginally better at dissipating heat and
shielding noise.
