In the help section for Windows Mail it states emails will automatically be
populated from Outlook Express when you are upgraded to Windows Mail; this
did not happen for me.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so how did you get your old
emails from
Outlook?

Thanks,
Gladys

I imported them from the Windows.old file. Open Windows Mail and Click on
File, then Import, then Messages, then Microsoft Outlook express 6.0, then,
Next then click okay for "import mail from OE 6 store directory". Click
Browse and Go down to Windows.old\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Local
Settings\application Data\Identities\<long file name>\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\. Do not click on Outlook Express but once it is in view, click on
select folder (at bottom of the Window and follow the rest of the
instructions.

see

for Outlook Express.

For Outlook you will either have to install Outlook on Vista or import the
messages into OE on WinXP.
