Getting different email indentities to work in Outlook 2000

We run three separate email identities

We have recently changed to Outlook 2000 from Outlook Express due to a fault
in OE which no one seems able to fix. When you switch email identities the
PC freezes (if you CTRL-ALT-DEL it throws up a message saying "Msimn not
responding").

We have had two problems with Outlook 2000

1. We have three email accounts and we have directed the incoming emails to
three different folders. If you reply to emails or create new ones it was
sending a copy to itself - i.e an email sent from info@ came to info@. After
composing an email I went into Options on the toolbar and the box "Have
message sent to." was checked and said 'info'. After a number of attempts I'
ve managed to get it to send to 'Sent Items'. This has now been corrected
for each of the accounts. Problem solved!

2. I want to send messages from each email identity from its own account as
each has a different message header (this was no problem in OE as you just
switched identities - until the bug appeared). Again I've gone into Options
on the toolbar and changed the "Send message using." to the appropriate
account. This works fine - for that email only. If you send another it
reverts to the default account. How can I get it to work each time that I
send an email?

Your help would be appreciated

Sarah

In order to use separate "Identities" with Outlook 2000, you need to use
Corporate/Workgroup mode:

....and create separate "Profiles" for each user. As to the Outlook Express
Identity switch problem, see if these help:

Thanks for reply - I've done everything in the Microsoft Knowledge base
articles. I find it quite offensive that Microsoft say that this is an
unconfirmed problem - IT IS REAL - but then we are so far away from them
that they are not interested in coming out here and putting right the
products they have sold which are not fit for the purpose.

We have now given up on Outlook 2000 and Spam Inspector (another Microsoft
programme. In fairness to the Giant Company they do reply to emails but do
they care?). Yesterday the PC was out of action all day downloading spam
emails at a rate of one every 1-2 minutes. Where have they been downloaded
to? I don't know!!!!

So, I've uninstalled Spam Inspector (for about the sixth time) and will
carry on with the PC freezing with its UNCONFIRMED "Msimn not responding"
problem.

Perhaps there is someone out there not so closely welded to Microsoft that
they can recommend an alternative to Windows 98SE, Internet Explorer,
Outlook, Outlook Express and Spam Inspector

Sending and receiving emails SHOULD be a relatively painless experience

Thanks
