Getting an mid file to play on my portable CD player

My cd player wont play an (MIDI)Musical Instrument
Digital Interface file I just burned onto a CD. How do I
get it to work? Do I have to covert the MID to another
format?

MIDI files require a synthesizer to play. They only tell the synth data
about the notes to be played and other parameters. You should have a number
of synths to select from in the Sounds and Audio Devices section in your
Control Panel under MIDI. You can save them as data files on a CD but you
cannot "play" them without a synthesizer.

You need to convert them to WAVs, which requires special software.
