GetIUMS/MSDART.DLL

Folks,

On starting a number of Microsoft applications (Office, Media Player etc), I
get the following error message:

"The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link
library MSDART.DLL"

No hints from an online search of the knowledge base and MSDN. Any
suggestions ?
